Written on banners – Photo Exhibition
Organization of photojournalist Emanuele Sangalli’s first photographic exhibition. Art direction and design of graphic material/posters for the event and preparation of print-ready files.
“Escrito en pancartas – Realidad social y poesía urbana” (translated: Written on banners – Social reality and urban poetry) reflects the social discontent and fighting spirit of the population of Murcia, a city in southern Spain. The exhibition focused on the banners and signs that were paraded in numerous demonstrations in the streets of the city during the year 2012 and 2013.
This photo exhibition took place in June 2013 and was part of a series of events to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the restaurant Ginkgo Biloba. Emanuele Sangalli selected 10 photographs to be displayed in the restaurant throughout the month, with a retail price of 15 euros each.
Ginkgo Biloba is a cozy restaurant in the city of Murcia, Spain, which aims to make eclectic and quality gastronomy accessible to all budgets. During the opening, Spanish wines and a “tapa” were offered. “Tapas” are unique to Spanish cuisine and are small plates that are meant to be shared. This one in particular was created especially for the opening by the restaurant’s chef.
The press release of the event was published by an online newspaper based in Murcia, called ElPajarito.es. Go to link.
