Patitas en la Calle – Visual Identity
Branding and creation of a visual identity for the Spanish NGO project “PATITAS EN LA CALLE – fomentamos la adopción”. Pro bono project.
“PATITAS EN LA CALLE – fomentamos la adopción” can be translated into “PAWS ON THE STREET – encouraging adoption”. The project aims to encourage the adoption of stray dogs through the use of professional photographs in which the animals show lots of energy and character.
In Spain there are many stray and unwanted dogs. Local shelters try their best to help them, but adoption is not always that easy. One of the reasons is that in many cases the animals look ugly and broken (you can just see it in their eyes) and photos taken by volunteers are bad quality ones. As stated by the creator of the project, the photographer Emanuele Sangalli, one way of achieving good quality material is by going to local shelters and playing with the dogs before taking pictures of them with a professional camera. The best shots are given to shelters to promote adoption on social media, and are also used to create postcards that volunteers can sell for charity.
The concept behind the logo has to do with its name. It represents a stylized version of a dog on the street.
