Solidary Xmas – Graphic design

This project consists on a set of illustrated Christmas cards and their packaging designed for AGUIPROAN, a Spanish non-profit organization committed to the welfare of abandoned pets.
 
I served the project as Design Strategist and Graphic Designer responsible for the creation of its concept and the production of the illustrated cards and their packaging. The NGO  relies solely on donations, so together with other creative minds, I launched this pro-bono project with the aim of raising awareness among potential donors during the Christmas period.

Emanuele Sangalli Photographer – Brand Identity

Emanuele Sangalli is a freelance photographer specialized in photojournalism and wedding photography. He sought a consistent identity for his professional activity that would communicate the elegance and sobriety of his style and the components of which could be printed and self-assembled at his studio.
 
The basic elements of this visual identity were composed of business cards featuring a brand new logo, and corporate paper products including envelopes, letterheads, dedicated packaging and a brand new website.

The feminine side of men – Creative concept for a book

Creation from concept to final product of Il femminile nell’uomo – Volume 1 (The feminine side of man – Volume 1), a university project focusing on the feminine side of man – this included establishing a visual identity, designing packaging, covers, layout, and booklet binding.
 
Revolving around questions of gendered identity and the idea that each man, like each woman, is made of a composite of gendered traits, Il femminile nell’uomo – Volume 1 seeks to reflect the fluidity across this entrenched barrier through openness, dialogue, and communicative visual imagery spanning from antiquity to the Web 2.0 era.

HE/DE the guide to the furnished city – Creative concept for a digital experience

HE/DE is a multimedia guide permitting users to build a community of DIY enthusiasts to find and collect furniture discarded on sidewalks which can then be transformed into creative pieces for their homes.
 
In 2013, the project was awarded the “@Diversity – European Idea Competition Award” in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for cultural and creative industries by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Education and Culture and won a one-year incubator program for European startups.

The @diversity Journey – Animated video

The 2-minute animated video has been realized for the occasion of the @diversity’s Final Seminar in Brussels and projected during “The Creative Shift Forum”. The event was financed and supported by the European Commission under the Creative Europe programme and hosted at Flagey, an iconic cultural centre in Brussels, on the 29th September 2014.
 
The video recounts the story of @diversity, a 2-year EU funded project to support European cultural and creative industries, through the eyes of Divy, a fictional animated character representing one of the 12 winners of the @diversity award. In the video we see Divy conceiving an idea, applying to the competition, and being awarded with participation to the incubation program through which his idea helps shape the future of cultural industries in Europe.

My DIY house – Reportage for El País

It was a great but pleasant surprise when I was asked by a journalist from the Spanish newspaper El País if I’d be interested in an interview showcasing my DYI home. I served this occasion as Art Director during the shooting of an intimate photo-reportage of my house.
 
The article tells of my job as a designer, my lifestyle, and most of all of my developing passion through the first steps of my career in social design and DIY practices. It’s a passion reflected in my work, often focusing on new ways of promoting sustainability, and also within my own home, rich in unique features, where statement design pieces share the same space with refurbished furniture brought in from the street.

ethnicity – Creative concept for a digital experience

Ethnicity is a digital guide promoting the exploration of multi-ethnic neighborhoods of cities all across Europe. It gives its users a chance to see the city under a new light and to take a look at the peculiar changes produced by different cultures living on the same territory.
 
The case study for the first app features the city of Milan. After performing ethnographic research on the territory and its inhabitants, the city has been reimagined as a tower divided into several floors, each of which represents a multi-ethnic neighborhood. Ethnicity’s tower evokes the famous Tower of Babel and turns it on its head – here different cultures come together and come to understand each other once more.

The Tbox – Product-service system

The Tbox is a University project resulting from several months of research performed in the place of use of the product, a discount store, to uncover hidden needs and opportunities for innovation in the field of packaging to exhibit the product.
 
The Tbox is a cardboard box with a double functionality. It can be used to deliver products to the store and, once there, it can be converted into a fully functional and visually appealing display stand. The design idea responds to the discount supermarkets’ specific need of performing cost-cutting exercises in transport, storage and presentation of good, which often results in having a packaging that doesn’t look appealing.
